This Keto Fish In Lemon Butter Sauce is outrageous, totally restaurant worthy. The Lemon Butter Sauce is made with butter and lemon  but it’s  not ‘just’ butter and lemon – it has the flavors that will surely take you for a yummiest ride. With the richness of butter, the tanginess of lemon and the goodness of protein boosted fish you’re surely in for a healthy yet delectable treat.

Few things to keep in mind

  • Fish: I have used Basa fish fillet for this recipe. You can use any white fish fillet of your choice too. Make sure the fish is cleaned well and pat dried before you marinate it.
  • Butter: Let the butter change color to a light brown before you add the shallots and garlic to it. This gives a nutty taste to the lemon butter sauce.

For Marination

  • Basa Fish (or any white fish) Fillet – 250 gms
  • Salt – as per taste
  • Pepper – 1/2 tsp
  • All Purpose Flour – 2 tsp
  • Butter – for pan frying the fish

For Lemon Butter Sauce

  • Butter – 2 tbsp
  • Small Onions (shallots) – 4-5, sliced thin
  • Garlic – 4-5 cloves, sliced thin
  • Salt – as per taste
  • Pepper – as per taste
  • Lemon Juice – 1/2 tbsp (adjust as per taste)

Step by Step Process

  1. Mix the salt, pepper and all purpose flour together. Rub this mix on the fish fillet on both sides evenly.
  2. Add a little butter to the pan and pan fry the fish on both sides till crispy on both sides.
  3. For the sauce, heat butter slowly in a pan till it starts changing color. As the butter starts to brown, add the shallots and garlic and fry till golden brown. Once done, turn off the heat.
  4. Let the butter sauce cool down a little. Add salt, pepper and lemon juice and mix it well. 
  5. To serve, place the fish fillet on the plate and pour the butter sauce on it.
  6. Serve this with a side of keto bread or some grilled vegetables.
