You can always skip the cheese in these and make it with a filling of vegetables. You can also add some proteins like paneer, tofu or a meat of your choice in this.

These Cheesy Vegetable Wraps can be made ahead and you can refrigerate them for 2-3 days. You can also prepare the wraps and freeze them. Defrost them in the refrigerator and then pan fry them at the time of serving. This recipe is to give you an idea on how you can make these wraps. A cheesy snack for everyone in the family!

Ingredients

  • For the filling
  • Oil – 1-2 tsp

  • Ginger – 1/4-inch piece

  • Garlic – 3-4 cloves, finely chopped

  • Onion – 1 medium, chopped

  • Carrot – 1 medium, grated

  • Cabbage – a small piece, shredded

  • Salt – as per taste

  • Red Chilli Powder – 1/2 tsp

  • Cumin Powder – 1/2 tsp

  • Chaat Masala – 1/2 tsp

  • Amchur Powder – 1/2 tsp

  • Tomato Ketchup – 2 tbsp

  • For wrapper
  • All-purpose Flour – 1/2 cup

  • Sugar – 1/4 tsp

  • Salt – 1/4-1/2 tsp

  • Oil – 2 tsp

  • Milk – 1/4 cup

  • Water – as need to make batter

  • Other ingredients
  • Grated Mozarella Cheese

  • Flour – 2 tbsp

  • Water – to make a slurry

  • Oil

Directions

  • Add oil in a kadai and once it heats up, add ginger and garlic and saute till fragrant. Add onion to it and fry till it starts changing color.
  • Add the grated carrot and cabbage and saute it on high flame for a couple of minutes.
  • Add salt, chilli powder, cumin powder, chaat masala, amchur powder and tomato ketchup to this and mix well. Turn off the heat and keep the filling aside.
  • Mix together flour, sugar, salt, oil, milk and enough water to make it into a thin crepe batter consistency.
  • Heat a pan and spread the crepe batter thin and cook on one side. Remove from heat and keep it aside. Make the remaining crepes.
  • On each crepe, place some grated cheese in the centre and then the filling on top of it. Add some more grated cheese on top.
  • Fold it into a square shaped packet. Make a slurry with flour and water and use it to seal the packets.
  • Heat oil in a pan and pan fry the vegetable wraps till golden brown on both sides.
  • Serve with ketchup or chutney.
