This dessert recipe will be loved by kids and can also be served as a sweet dish after lavish dinners or buffets. It’s a perfect dish to serve on special occasions and festivals like Krishna Janmashtami, Dussehra or Diwali.

You can flavour the mix with some cocoa powder to make chocolate malai peda, or add some saffron milk for a kesar flavour.

  • Ghee – 1-2 tbsp

  • Condensed Milk – 200 gms

  • Milk Powder – 1 cup

  • Fresh cream – 2 tbsp

  • Cardamom Powder – 1 tsp

  • Chopped pistachios and almonds for garnish


  • In a heavy bottom pan, mix together ghee, condensed milk, milk powder and fresh cream. Heat this on medium flame while continuously stirring till the mixture thickens. Add the cardamom powder and some more ghee and cook till the mixture starts leaving the sides of the pan.
  • Transfer it to a plate and let it cool down a little. Roll it into desired shape.
  • Garnish with some chopped pistachios and almonds and store in an airtight container.
