Paneer tikka sandwich is a popular breakfast as well as an afternoon snack that you can have with your cup of tea or coffee. Its simple and quick to make, and you can add other toppings, like bell peppers etc. This also makes for a great tiffin box meal for kids.

The flavors here are rich – from the spices in the marinade and then from cooking the paneer till it gets a nice char. And of course the cheese! Everything is sandwiched between that well-toasted crusty bread. Everything about this is perfect!

You can certainly make changes to this basic recipe, adjust the spices and add some more vegetables as per your choice. This is a really flavourful sandwich that you will surely love. And for those who prefer tofu over paneer, feel free to swap!

A flavourful sandwich which will surely make you happy!

Ingredients

  • For marination
  • Hung Curd – ¼ cup

  • Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 tsp

  • Green Chilli Paste – from 1 green chilli

  • Kashmiri Chilli Powder – 1 tbsp

  • Coriander Powder – ½ tsp

  • Turmeric Powder – ¼ tsp

  • Garam Masala Powder – 1 tsp

  • Roasted Cumin Powder – 1 tsp

  • Amchur Powder – ½ tsp

  • Kasuri Methi – 1 tsp, crushed

  • Black Salt (Kala Namak) – ½ tsp

  • Other Ingredients
  • Paneer – 200 gms, cut into small cubes

  • Onion – 1 small, cut into small cubes

  • Green Capsicum – 1 small, cut into small cubes

  • Oil for Cooking

  • Sandwich Bread – 6 slices

  • Butter – 3-4 tbsp, at room temperature

  • Mayonnaise – 3-4 tbsp

  • Lettuce Leaves

  • Grated Processed Cheese

Directions

  • In a bowl, add the curd, ginger garlic paste, green chilli paste, chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, cumin powder, amchur powder, kasuri methi and black salt. Mix this all well.
  • To this, add the paneer, onion and capsicum pieces and mix well and keep this aside.
  • Heat some oil in a pan and add the paneer mix to it and cook on high flame for 5-7 min till cooked and slightly charred.
  • Apply some butter on all the slices of bread. Apply some mayonnaise on one slice and place a few pieces of lettuce on it.
  • Add 1/3rd of the paneer stuffing and then sprinkle some grated cheese. Cover it with another piece of buttered bread slice. Repeat the same process with the remaining slices of bread too to make three sandwiches.
  • Toast this in a sandwich maker, grill or pan to a golden-brown color on both sides. Serve hot with some ketchup or chutney.
