Hara Bhara Kabab is another vegetable cutlet like snack, prepared using spinach and green peas. This is the best way to add some nutrition to your diet in a delicious way. They are crispy from the outside while melting in your mouth from the inside. It is a great snack for any party and goes well with chai too.
Kabab is usually a snack that has been chargrilled, made of meat or vegetables or paneer. It is very popular in Indian subcontinent and Middle eastern countries as well. These are often served as starters with spicy green chutney.
This Hara Bhara Kabab has different green vegetables added to it and it is usually pan fried with a little oil. That ways it is also a healthier alternative to deep fried snacks.

Ingredients
Oil – 1 tbsp
Cumin – ½ tsp
Ginger – 1-inch, chopped
Green Chili – 1-2, chopped
Beans – 5-6, chopped
Green Peas – ½ cup
Coriander Leaves – a small bunch, chopped
Salt – as per taste
Chaat Masala Powder – 1 tsp
Garam Masala Powder – ¼ tsp
Spinach – 100 gms
Potato – 1 large or 2 small, boiled, peeled and mashed
Roasted Gram Flour – 2-3 tbsp
Bread Crumbs – 2-3 tbsp
Cashew Halves – 8 pcs
Oil – for pan frying
Directions
- In a pan, add some oil. Once the oil is hot, add the cumin seeds and let it splutter.
- To this, add the ginger and green chilli and fry till fragrant.
- Next, add the chopped beans, green peas, coriander leaves and some salt and cook it till the beans and peas are tender.
- To this, add the chaat masala and garam masala powder and mix well.
- Finally, add the spinach leaves and cover and cook for 10-15 sec till the spinach wilts.
- Cook till the spinach is cooked, but there is still some moisture left.
- Let this cool down and then grind it to a semi-coarse paste.
- To this blended paste, add the mashed potatoes, gram flour and bread crumbs and mix well. Add salt, if needed.
- Divide the mixture into 8 portions and then roll each portion in a small ball then flatten it slightly.
- Place a piece of cashew half on each kabab. Add some oil in a pan and pan fry the kababs on both sides till a golden-brown color.
- Serve hot with some chutney.
