Lassi is a traditional yoghurt based drink from India. It is a great drink to have during the hot summer months. Lassi can be made plain by blending yoghurt with some cream, sugar and dry fruits or it can be flavoured with different fruits and berries.

During summer, when mangoes are in season, why not make Mango Lassi. Everything goes together in the blender and you have a thick yoghurt shake ready.

A traditional yoghurt drink from India and Pakistan

Ingredients

  • Chopped Mango – 1 cup

  • Sugar – 1.5-2 tbsp, depending on the sweetness of mangoes

  • Thick yoghurt – 1 cup

  • Fresh cream – 1/4 cup

  • Ice cubes

  • Fresh cream, cut mango pieces and dry fruit for garnish

Step by Step Process

  • In a blender, add the mango pieces and sugar and blend well to a smooth puree.
  • To this, add the yoghurt, cream and ice cubes and blend to a thick pouring consistency.
  • Pour into glasses and garnish with some fresh cream, cut mango pieces and dry fruits while serve.
  • It is best to serve lassis cold.
