Ingredients
Milk – 1 tbsp
Saffon – a few strands
Mawa – 200 gms, grated or crumbled
Sugar – 1/2 cup
Cardamom Powder – 1/8 tsp
Ghee to grease the moulds
Directions
- Add saffron into milk and keep it aside to infuse.
- Add mawa to the pan and once it starts to soften, add the sugar. As it starts cooking, the sugar will melt and mixture will become paste like. Add the saffron milk at this stage and cook till the mixture leaves the sides of the pan, becomes shiny and comes together.
- Take it off heat and let it cool down a little. Grease a modak mould with some ghee and fill some of the mawa mixture in it.
- Shape the modaks and transfer them to an airtight container. You can also shape the modaks using your hands.
