Ingredients
- For the sandwich masala
Cumin Seeds – 1 tbsp
Peppercorns – 1 tbsp
Fennel Seeds – 1 tbsp
Cinnamon – 1-inch stick
Cardamom – 1 pod
Cloves – ½ tsp
Chaat Masala – ½ tsp
Amchur Powder – ½ tsp
Black Salt – ¼ tsp
Hing – ¼ tsp
- Other Ingredients
Bread Slices – 6
Butter – Soft and at room temperature
Green Chutney – 3-4 tbsp
Potato – 1 boiled, peeled and diced
Tomato – 1, sliced
Onion – 1, sliced
Cucumber – ½, sliced
Beetroot – 1, boiled, peeled and sliced
Mozarella Cheese – slices or grated
Directions
- Dry roast the cumin seeds, peppercorns, fennel seeds, cinnamon, cardamom and cloves till fragrant. Grind these together with the chaat masala, amchur powder, black salt and hing and keep it aside.
- To assemble the sandwich, apply butter on both sides of a bread slice and then apply some green chutney on it. Place the potato slices on it and sprinkle some of the prepared sandwich masala on top of it.
- Places a few slices of tomatoes and onions and sprinkle some sandwich masala again. Apply some butter on both sides of another slice and place it on top.
- Again apply some green chutney and place few slices of beetroot and cucumber on top. Sprinkle some sandwich masala on these again. Place a slice of cheese or add some grated cheese on top. Apply some butter on a bread slice and flip it on top of the sandwich, butter side down. Now apply some more butter on the top side. Place the sandwich on a grill and cook both sides to golden brown by gently pressing the sandwich. Repeat the same process and make another sandwich.
- Cut the sandwich diagonally and serve.
