
Masala Doodh
Masala Doodh is sweetened flavored milk beverage from the Maharashtrian cuisine. A mix of dry fruits and a few spices are added which makes the final drink aromatic as well as delicious. Masala doodh is usually made during festivals in Maharashtra.
When kids demand for something different to drink in the evening, this home made masala doodh is just perfect. You can serve this masala doodh hot or let it cool down and then refrigerate it and then serve it cold!

Ingredients
Cashews – 5-6 nos
Almonds – 5-6 nos
Pistachios – 5-6 nos
Milk – 2 cups
Saffron – a few strands
Cardamom Powder – ¼ tsp
Nutmeg Powder – 1/8 tsp
Sugar – 2 tbsp
Directions
- Dry roast the cashews, almonds and pistachios lightly. Powder these and keep it separate.
- Take care not to powder it to a stage that the nuts start releasing oil. Boil milk in a sauce pan and add saffron to it.
- When milk comes to a boil, add the cardamom powder, nutmeg powder, sugar and 2-3 tbsp of the ground nuts. Let it boil for a couple of minutes, while stirring continuously.
- Take it off the heat and serve this either hot or chilled.
